Ordered a birthday cake for a friend. They were accommodating with changing the pickup time later in the day. The shop is quite simple inside and out. There was a simple glass display with the options of small cakes and another two displays with desserts. The staff were very kind and patient with the order and the cake was a delicious 7x7 strawberry napoleon cake with flaky layers and bright red strawberries. These layers were not too crumbly and broke off neatly in segments, opening up to the creamy insides. The fruit decoration on top was marvelous and exquisite. This pastry shop is located in a busy small plaza across from Bristol Farms. There is parking but it’s limited and a little tight.

French/Japanese/Chinese style bakery with mini selections of cake slices, creme puff, tiramisu, and variation of other cake flavors. You can place an order for larger cakes if needed. The place is pretty small. There's not much area to sit down to enjoy the sweets. I got the matcha chocolate cake, hazelnut tiramisu, and the bear cream puff. All was deliciously good!! Bear cream puff was generously filled with yummy cream. It was delicate and smooth. So darn good!! Wish I got two instead of one. The matcha dark chocolate and tiramisu were delightful! It has a richness but lightness to it. You can taste the skill and craft in these desserts.

Craving for cream puffs, looking through Yelp and found this pastry cafe in South Pasadena. Initially, I thought the cream puffs were small, they are not. It is huge, and for $5 per piece. It is not just your regular cream puffs, it is a Choux Au Cream Puffs, they design them into the head of a bear, one w/ mask & one w/o, extremely cute. My wife and son love it very much because they aren't too sweet, what a perfect puffs.

Francis Bakery makes the BEST Chestnut cake in California! Chestnuts come from Japan and the cake is so soft and moist. I order my Birthday Chestnut cake from Francis every year! Every bite is a gastronomic experience🤩😍😋❣️

They only have take out but it's my go-to cake place. Their cakes are the Asian moderate sweetness instead of the overly sweet western desserts you usually find around the area. Tried a variety of theirs from strawberry shortcake to cream puffs to roll cakes to tiramisu to fruit tarted etc. and got to say I enjoyed all of them! Personal fav is definitely the apple tarte.

The strawberry napoleon was so yummy. The strawberries were ripe and juicy and the pastry and filling helped cut the sweetness. It is such a tasty dessert. I was hoping there would be a place to eat inside but there were no seats.

Ordered a birthday cake for my son’s party. It was so good that even one of my British friend was impressed. If you appreciate a sophisticated balance of flavor in a cake, this place is it.
