A perfect little spot for a relaxed after-work dinner and a drink. The space is clean and cozy, with both table seating and comfortable bar. The chef has a Michelin level background, and it really shows in the thoughtfulJapanese-Korean fusion menu. The uni toast is a must order, crispy outside, soft inside, topped with generous, sweet uni and a rich slow cooked egg yolk. The maguro monaka is beautiful and delicious, with great texture and layers of flavor. Hand rolls were fresh, well seasoned, and perfectly balanced, and the duck dish was tender with a light, French-inspired touch. Cocktails are creative too!Sunset Espresso was especially impressive. A chill, quality spot I’d happily come back to.

I had a fantastic dinner at Sonmari and left genuinely impressed by how thoughtful and cohesive the menu felt. The hambagu (such a cute name!) immediately reminded me of an elevated In--and-Out style burger, which is a huge compliment in my book since I love them. It had that familiar comfort factor with more depth and intention in the flavors. The crispy rice was delicious, crisp on the outside with great texture and balance, and easy to keep reaching for. The standout for me was the clam chowder. I did not expect it to steal the show, yet it ended up being my favorite dish of the night. It felt rich, warm, and deeply satisfying without feeling heavy, which is hard to pull off. I also tried the gamjajum. It was well executed, though it leaned more onion forward than my personal palate prefers, making it my least favorite dish based solely on preference rather than quality. Service was excellent throughout the meal. Janet and John were attentive, warm, and made the experience feel relaxed and welcoming. That level of service always elevates a dining experience. Sonmari feels creative, confident, and intentional, and I would happily return to explore more of the menu. Great find in Silver Lake!

I came by for the soft opening, and I already booked my next hangout here. It’s not just another place with the same old sushi menu. The food and the vibe really stuck with me. It feels so good to finally have a truly great spot in the neighborhood. The staff were super friendly and knew the menu inside out, which made the whole experience even better. If you love hand rolls done right, you’ll want to come here. Anything with uni on the menu is a must-order, the quality is truly on another level.

A great new Japanese spot just opened in Silver Lake, so my friend and I went for lunch. We ordered the **Temaki Mori**, **Uni Toast**, and **Crispy Rice**, and everything was delicious. The uni toast was especially impressive – the plating was beautiful and the flavor was amazing. The chef kindly treated us to **soba** and a savory **pancake (jeon)**, and they were so good that I definitely want to order them again next time. For dessert, we had the **Mont Blanc** and **Matcha Cheesecake**, and both were fantastic. I honestly feel like I could come here once a week. The food is great, the atmosphere is nice, and the prices are very reasonable.

My favorite fusion sushi restaurant in Silver Lake! The fish are so fresh and the uni is amazing. The service is excellent. It’s good for dating and hanging out with friends. The duck was so juicy and delicious and totally recommended. Love the uni toast and maguro monaka as well. There’s a secret menu for Omakase! Ask the chef!

I had a very good dinner! Had to report. Apparently they just opened, changing menu often but overall it’s a great value and delicious. Atmosphere is great and service was great too I ordered potato, soba, hikari don, duck uni toast, mulhwe, and couple hand rolls. I think duck is something I would drive from west side to silverlake. Very delicious flavor from persimmon and strawberry and duck. Skin was crispy, meat was tender, and nicely seasoned. All handrolls were spectacular especially hamburger one. Very unique and very delicious, do not skip this one. One of the best bite in LA for me this year. Overall they just opened do Beer and sake with some appetizer with killer handroll, you will have a great night out. For cheap price

This was one of my absolute favorite dining experiences. I had never tried hand rolls until tonight & it was such a fun & delicious experience! I tried 6 things on the menu & everything was exquisite. Date night, casual night: this is the perfect spot.

This spot is all about creative hand rolls and great vibes. The presentation alone makes it stand out—beautifully plated sushi with fresh fish, perfectly seasoned rice, and thoughtful toppings like microgreens, sauces, and avocado that actually enhance the flavor instead of overpowering it. The hand rolls were crisp, warm, and packed with quality ingredients, especially the glazed eel roll, which was rich and smoky in the best way. The atmosphere is modern and fun, with eye-catching wall art that gives the place personality and makes it feel lively without being overwhelming. Service felt attentive and relaxed, making it a great place to sit, enjoy, and take your time with each bite. Definitely a solid spot for sushi lovers looking for something a little more unique than the usual rolls. Would happily come
